If you’re reading this over Saturday morning coffee, today is unusually packed around L&A.
The Studio Tour is opening doors across the county, cyclists are about to set off along the Lake Ontario shoreline, and Greater Napanee has a couple of practical reasons to finally clear some things out of the garage.
Here’s what’s worth knowing this week.

🔥 HELP WANTED: STONE MILLS FIREFIGHTERS
Wednesday, September 16 | 7 p.m.
Stone Mills Fire Station 4, 684 County Road 4 W, Tamworth
Ever wondered what it actually takes to become a local firefighter?
The Stone Mills Fire Department is recruiting, and Wednesday’s open house is a chance to learn about the process, ask questions and get a better sense of the role before applying.
Stone Mills operates four stations with a team of volunteer firefighters serving communities across the township.
Applications close September 27.
🏡 HOUSE OF THE WEEK
100 Britannia Crescent, Bath
$650,000 | 2 bed | 3 bath
A newly listed Bath property that offers a different kind of fit than the larger detached homes we often feature.
This freehold bungalow townhome was originally built as the showcase model home and combines main-floor living with a substantial finished lower level.
Upstairs, there’s an open kitchen, dining and living space with a vaulted ceiling, a primary bedroom with ensuite and deck access, a second bedroom, office and main-floor laundry. Downstairs adds a large family room, full bathroom and a multipurpose room currently being used as another bedroom.
Why it stood out: It’s a strong option for someone who wants the convenience of bungalow living without giving up usable finished space, and the location puts the shops, waterfront, golf course and other Bath amenities close by.
Open houses:
Saturday, September 12 | 2 to 4 p.m.
Sunday, September 13 | 2 to 4 p.m.
Listed by Ted Custance and Catherine Arnold, Salespersons, Sutton Group-Masters Realty Inc., Brokerage.
COMING SOON
🥞 Breakfast on the Farm Comes to Newburgh
Saturday, September 26 | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
River Valley Cattle Company, 398 Embury Road, Newburgh
This one is still two weeks away, but it’s worth getting on the calendar now because tickets are still available.
The Embury family is opening River Valley Cattle Company for Farm & Food Care Ontario’s final Breakfast on the Farm of the season.
Start with an all-Ontario breakfast, then explore the working beef farm, get up close with cattle, see tractors and equipment in action, visit interactive displays and talk with local farmers about how food is raised.
It’s a rare chance to get beyond the farm gate and see one of L&A’s working farms up close.
Submitted to L&A Loop.
That’s the Loop for this week.
Enjoy the weekend, whether you’re touring studios, riding 56 kilometers, or just hoping somebody takes that thing you’ve had sitting in the garage for three years.
