The Napanee Fair is underway and runs through Monday.
Here are the times worth knowing, plus a free family concert on Amherst Island and two good Thursday picks.

Napanee Fair
Friday, July 31 to Monday, August 3
Napanee Fairgrounds, 180 York Street, Napanee
Expect four days of midway rides, agricultural exhibits, livestock shows and grandstand events.
Friday: Midway until 10 p.m., truck and big tractor pull at 6 p.m., and Napanee Has Talent at 7:15 p.m.
Saturday: Horse and pony show at 10 a.m., children’s pet show at 2 p.m., tractor pull at 6 p.m., and country music beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday: Draft horse show at 9 a.m., pony pull at noon, and heavy horse pull at 3:30 p.m.
Monday: 4-H beef show at 9 a.m., 4-H dairy show at noon, and the demolition derby at 1 p.m.
Admission is $10 per day or $25 for a weekend pass. Children 10 and under are admitted free. Parking is available through the Richmond Park Drive entrance.
Free family concert with Quartetto Gelato
Monday, August 3 | 11:15 a.m.
Amherst Island Fairgrounds, 5437 Front Road, Stella
The main afternoon performance is sold out, but families can still see Quartetto Gelato at a separate free children’s concert earlier in the day.
The performance is weather permitting. Bring a lawn chair.
Two free Thursday picks
Basket making in Odessa
Thursday, August 6 | 10 a.m. to noon
Babcock Mill, 100 Bridge Street, Odessa
Learn simple weaving techniques while creating a small basket from natural materials and discovering how baskets were once used in everyday life.
The workshop is free, open to all ages and does not require registration.
Live jazz in Bath
Thursday, August 6 | 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Fairfield-Gutzeit House, 341 Main Street, Bath
Kingston vocalist Chantal Thompson and her band bring an evening of live jazz to the waterfront grounds of Fairfield-Gutzeit House.
Admission is free. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.

Pump Track Grand Opening
Wednesday, August 19 | 6 p.m.
Loyalist Park Amphitheatre, 133 Pratt Drive, Amherstview
The new pump track’s official celebration will include a ribbon cutting, BMX demonstration, games, a hot dog barbecue and a TuNes Day concert by Kingston brass band Brass Over Tea Kettle.
After the demonstration, riders can try the track themselves. Bring a bike and helmet to participate.
