The Odessa Fair Returns for Its 191st Year
Friday, July 24 to Sunday, July 26
Odessa Fairgrounds, 231 Main Street, Odessa
One of the area’s longest-running summer traditions is back for three days of midway rides, agricultural exhibits, animals, entertainment, vendors, and classic fair food.
Friday’s tractor pull begins at 6 p.m. Saturday brings horse, cattle, poultry, and pet stock shows, a fairgrounds parade, magic performances, Birds of Prey demonstrations, and live music from R-Banned. The weekend concludes with Sunday’s demolition derby.
Admission is $10 per person per day or $20 for a weekend pass. Children 12 and under are free. Midway rides cost extra, and gate admission is cash only.
See the Moon Up Close
Saturday, July 25 at 9:30 p.m.
L&A Dark Sky Viewing Area, 7980 County Road 41, Erinsville
The moon looks considerably more interesting through a 16-inch telescope than it does through your kitchen window.
During this weather-dependent event, Dark Sky volunteers will share a little lunar knowledge before visitors get a close-up look at the moon’s surface through the site’s Dobsonian telescope.
Reservations are required.
St. Alban’s Annual Community Fish Fry
Sunday, July 26 at 5 p.m.
St. Alban’s Centre, 10419 Loyalist Parkway, Adolphustown
St. Alban’s popular fish fry returns with battered haddock, fries, creamy coleslaw, a dinner bun, dessert, lemonade, and water. Regular and gluten-free meals are available.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. There will also be a 50/50 draw.
The event regularly sells out, so ordering ahead is strongly recommended.

Worth Noting
Amherstview’s New Aquatic Centre Is Open
The Barr Homes Aquatic Centre officially opened this week at the W.J. Henderson Community Centre in Amherstview.
During its first phase of operations, through August 2, the facility is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
Swimming lessons, public swims, aquafit, and other aquatic programming are being introduced as operations ramp up. Check the current schedule before packing the goggles and promising anyone a trip to the pool.

Napanee Fair

Napanee Fairgrounds, 180 York Street, Napanee
The Napanee Fair arrives next weekend with a midway, agricultural and livestock shows, entertainment, homecraft exhibits, truck and tractor pulls, and Monday’s demolition derby.
Daily admission is $10, a weekend pass is $25, and children 10 and under are admitted free.
