Good afternoon, L&A.
There is still plenty ahead this weekend. A new 25-inch telescope makes its public debut in Erinsville tonight, Lavender Bloom Fest continues in Yarker on Sunday, and the RCMP Musical Ride arrives in Napanee on Thursday.
Here’s what’s worth knowing.
WHAT’S HAPPENING
Laser-Guided Tour of the Night Sky
Saturday, July 11
10:00 PM to 11:30 PM
L&A Dark Sky Viewing Area, 7980 County Road 41, Erinsville
Tonight’s free tour marks the official launch of the Dark Sky Viewing Area’s new 25-inch Dobsonian telescope.
Local volunteers will guide visitors through the night sky and help newcomers identify what they are seeing. Bring a lawn chair, bug spray, a warm layer, and a red-light flashlight if you have one.
The event is weather permitting. Check availability and conditions before heading out.
Lavender Bloom Fest 2026
Today until 4:00 PM
Sunday, July 12 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Lavender Queen Lavender Farm, Yarker
Lavender Queen’s Bloom Fest continues through Sunday, with fields in peak bloom, fresh bouquets, artisan vendors, and family activities.
It is a good pick for anyone looking for a relaxed rural outing, a few locally made finds, or an easy summer activity with the kids. Tickets are available online or at the gate.
RCMP Musical Ride
Thursday, July 16
Napanee Fairgrounds
The RCMP Musical Ride is bringing its signature display of precision horsemanship to Napanee.
Riders and horses will perform synchronized formations set to music, combining pageantry, tradition, and impressive coordination. It is a rare local appearance and a strong family outing for the middle of the week.
Check the official listing for the performance time and current ticket details.
COMING SOON
Wynn Farms Sunflower Festival
Opening weekend: Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19
10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Wynn Farms Flower Fields, Adolphustown
Wynn Farms’ Sunflower Festival returns next weekend with admission to the flower fields, a pick-your-own sunflower, an ice cream cone, face painting, a bouncy castle, a sand pit, and a colouring contest included.
Admission is $11.06 plus tax for ages 1 to 12 and $13.72 plus tax for ages 13 and up.
This is worth planning ahead for, especially for families looking for a full summer outing rather than a quick stop.
HOUSE OF THE WEEK
3215 Big Creek Street, Greater Napanee
$775,000 | 4 bed, 3 bath
New to the market, this century home stands out for its scale: four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and approximately 2,500 to 3,000 square feet of living space.
At under $800,000, it offers the proportions and presence of a substantial older home without entering the seven-figure waterfront market. It is an intriguing option for buyers who need more room and want something with more history and individuality than a typical newer build.
Thanks for reading The Loop. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and look up tonight.
