Local things worth knowing this week in Lennox & Addington.

This week: local markets are back, Napanee has comics and garden events, Amherst Island is in lilac season, and a rare Napanee River waterfront home has an open house this weekend.

Also, last week’s poll results are in, and readers were very clear: when it comes to local markets, fresh food and baked goods are the big draw.

The weekend may be a little grey, but there are still plenty of local reasons to get out.

Market Saturdays are back in Napanee with fresh locally grown produce and fruit when available, homemade baked goods and breads, sweet treats, honey, jams, preserves, home decor, handcrafted items, and rotating vendors throughout the season.

Given last week’s poll results, this one feels especially well-timed. Apparently, the people have spoken, and the people would like bread.
